Commercial Road Tests (Class 1-4) Reopened

Starting June 11, we will begin taking appointments for commercial (Class 1-4) road tests. This includes stand-alone commercial pre-trip appointments and testing for heavy trailers. We'll be contacting customers whose Class 1-4 road tests were cancelled between March 17 and March 30 to prioritize their appointment. All other eligible customers for a commercial licence can call us on or after June 11 at 1-800-950-1498 or 250-978-8300 to book an appointment. We ask customers for their patience as we anticipate high call volumes. Road testing is going to look different. Our driver examiners will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for the duration of the road tests. They will have access to a combination of equipment including masks, shields, goggles, gloves and disposable seat covers. We're also going to provide a mandatory medical grade mask for customers to wear during the road tests. We are providing our employees and customers with personal protective equipment (PPE) that must be worn for the duration of the road test. We ask that customers arrive promptly to their Class 1-4 appointment and:

  • ensure they have the required identification

  • be prepared for health screening questions

  • ensure the interior of their vehicle is clean; and

  • maintain physical distance of 2m (6ft) from ICBC representatives when possible

Motorcycle Skills Testing (MST) have resumed and can be booked online or by calling 1-800-950-1498 or 250-978-8300. There will be no standby appointments for MST. To date, we have secured sufficient PPE for this initial phase. Expanding the availability of road tests to other classes will depend on the ability to secure and maintain sufficient PPE for our employees and customers.
